Raimondi Park

Continuing our work in West Oakland, we recently fairybombed in Raimondi Park. This is a good sized park between 18th & 20th Streets. It’s named after local baseball star Ernie Raimondi who died in 1945 from wounds received in WWII. You can read some history in this article from the East Bay Times. East Bay Times Article It seems the park was badly run down and got a well deserved renovation in the 2000’s.

Gazing over the big green field surrounding the playground, we suddenly realized that we had to be careful not to get our fairy furniture in the way of any riding lawnmowers. No fairy would enjoy having their breakfast ruined when their house was knocked over. But then we spotted a small patch of longer grass where they’d planted a young tree. It was the perfect place for our fairies to rest.
