The Gardens at Lake Merritt
Recently, our intrepid fairybombing team of Melissa and myself visited Lake Merritt for the second time. We started up near the pergola at one end of the park and walked down the Grand Avenue side of the lake to Children’s Fairyland, which is the spot we ended our last Lake Merritt fairy adventures. Along the way we passed many spots that cried out for fairy furniture. As with our last visit, we left little groupings of furniture here and there along our way. This included one fairy house which we left near the children’s playground.
One particular gem we found as we walked was The Gardens at Lake Merritt. This is actually a set of various special gardens all contained within a fenced area and open to the public. You can read about it here. We dropped several fairy pieces within this wonderland. One especially gorgeous spot was the Bonsai Garden. We didn’t leave any fairy gear here, though we really wanted to. But we didn’t want people to think they could mess around with things in this carefully tended garden. As with the Morcom Rose Garden, there were many volunteers laboring to maintain the beautiful miniature trees.
