Mandana Plaza Park

This is a little strip of a park along Lakeshore Avenue in Oakland. It has some small play structures and a couple redwoods ripe for fairy development. In earlier times, Patty and I mainly knew this park as a good place to find parking if all the spots along the upper Lakeshore business district were taken. But now we were here for more important tasks. On our first visit, we left a house and some blue furniture underneath a redwood at the far end of the park.

When we returned to the park, we had a second house along with some wee little brown furniture for the fairies. And we discovered a special thing. No-one had taken the house we left the first time. It was in the same place we’d left it. But someone had obviously been playing with it. The furniture was moved and an elaborate structure had been built around the house using sticks and twigs. What a wonderful thing to see happening.
