Gnomes
We had the most wonderful happening last week. We found on our front porch a bag full of little cloth gnomes. Some special person had created them and left them for us to incorporate into our fairy house deliveries in Oakland. Plus, our mystery benefactor placed several gnomes into the fairy houses in our front yard.
We have no idea who did this. It’s a true mystery. We tried reaching out to friends and neighbors but no-one came forward. We did hear from one dear friend who told us she’s been sworn to secrecy. Aha! It looks like it’s a creative neighbor joining in the fun of anonymous gifting.
What they did give us, in addition to the tiny gnomes, was a short poem included in the bag. Here’s how it goes:
We are gnomes
In need of homes.
We are made of scraps,
And wear pointy caps
We are stuffed with stones,
They are our bones.
Please take us in for now
Then share us somehow
